I was obsessed with my Dr. Martens at school and literally kick myself every time I see someone customise theirs in their own quirky way. There isn't anything particularly "fashion" about this look, which is why I think I love it. Like really love it. Its like this college guy was born with an innate sense of style that so many people aspire to have. I'm not even a fan of 'man-jewellery'...in fact I positively hate it, but he appears so comfortable that I'm guilty of being a fan of this male bijoux (only on this rare occasion may I add).

Dr. Martens are totally tuned in to the sense of nostalgia their boots & shoes evoke. They're encouraging brand-lovers to tweet about their first DM experience - just use #FirstandForever to share yours.

Mixing it up a little on day four...and by mixing I mean NOT wearing a maxi skirt. After three solid days of snapping away, my poor, blistered feet (sorry - not a nice thought I realise!) couldn't handle heels again so I opted for my trusted Repetto jazz shoes. Just the right amount of jazz but thankfully, comfy as a bean bag! Did I also mention my kimono inspired tunic? Actually a dress from the kids department in Zara. Not sure if that makes it an insanely cool find or just plain sad!!

There was a clear palette of highlighter hues today at LFW - everything from Zandra Rhodes's hair to lacy skirt numbers. Colour certainly seemed to be the order of the day as colourful brights were paired with neutral basics.

Another day and another outfit. Although not intentional I'm quickly realising that maxi skirts are my LFW uniform staple. Today's fluro pink, pleated skirt was a great (and cheap!) find from Portobello Market. For me, anything that's not comfortable can't afford style to the wearer...so maxi skirts it is then..although I will try and add some variety at some point this week!

Be careful what you wish for...I got my cold, grey day so I could wear my more wintery "get-up". Totally regretting that one! Despite the rain, today's street style spots did not disappoint. Mustard yellow and burgundy appeared to be the dominant colours of the day with a fair few polka-dots on everything from dresses, to skirts and socks. I'm quickly getting over my post wedding blues as I am SO excited about all the trend spotting and London street style over the coming days at London Fashion Week.

Before I share all the amazing outfits I shot today, I thought I'd share what I wore on day one. It can be so difficult to plan what to wear with our typical London weather. But it surprised the pack today as the sun came out in full force. I do have a rather autumnal number planned so I am selfishly hoping for at least one grey, dull day!! Its London, so I'm pretty sure that my wish will be granted.

Total Wedding Picture Envy

With only 16 days to go to my own wedding, I could totally relate to the wedding nerves expressed by Kate Moss in the interview featured in U.S. Vogue's September issue. However, after seeing what I can only describe as the most beautiful wedding pictures I have ever seen, those nerves have reached a totally new level...will my wedding photos look anywhere near this good? Well, in short...No...But then again my wedding photographer isn't Mario Testino.

For me this is what wedding photography should be about - capturing those happy moments of the day in a non-staged and farcical way.

Finally A First Look at Vogue's September Issue

The highly anticipated wait is over. After getting a sneak peek behind-the-scenes of Kate Moss & Jamie Hince's wedding day (thanks to a certain Terry Richardson) Vogue has finally revealed the cover of its September issue featuring the full pictures from the wedding taken by Mario Testino and an in-depth interview by Moss..a rarity!

Looking absolutely stunning in a regal purple dress, the cover is yet another triumph for US Vogue, which is one of the few fashion publications that reported a sales increase in 2011, as reported yesterday.

I cannot wait to get my hands on this baby...my local newsagent and I have become buddies after I started going in every day just to remind him to keep a copy aside for me when the delivery arrives! Oooh I haven't been this excited since the wedding day itself!

Speaking of weddings...just 16 days to go until mine...oh golly!

I am always so intrigued to see pictures of celebrities caught in natural, everyday situations (not that you'd call Kate Moss's wedding to Jamie Hince 'everyday' but you get where I'm coming from). I'm really not one for matchy-matchy outfits, let alone accessorising with just one colour alone. But this blue, seemingly paint-splattered dress by Cos just felt as though it was calling out for some red accents so that's exactly what I did. I also managed to dig out some reeeeaaaally old red sandals that I brought ions ago from Zara...they just had a bit of a geisha feel and I've rediscovered my love for them (will definitely be pairing them with all the kimono jackets I've been buying of late!)

The weatherman is saying that we can look forward to temperatures of up to 25 degrees this weekend so hoping I can get the summer wardrobe out in full swing. Oh, and I promise to mix it up a bit more on the colour front too ; )

I've still not managed to bag one in my size but I will keep searching and keep hoping.

I had the pleasure of meeting the wonderful Ben de Lisi yesterday afternoon. Famed for his timeless and elegant dresses, the afternoon was set in an equally elegant setting in London's The Ivy. I was invited as Ben was showcasing his fourth collection for Principles as relaunched by Debenhams a year ago.

The collection for high summer has been designed using a neutral and monochrome colour palette and then infused with bold purple and orange accents. As well as key weekend-wear pieces, the collection has some classic smart day-wear...the type of staples that will complete your summer wardrobe and that will allow you to accessorise perfectly. However, don't think of accessorising to much...well, not according to the fashion connoisseur himself. Ben and I talked fashion tips, trends and even Kate Middleton's wedding dress. Here's what he had to say...

Exsoteric: You originally studied sculpture at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. What made you decide to make the transition into fashion?

Ben: For me it was just switching the medium. Whether you're sculpting in stone or fabric, its a similar sensibility but with fashion I sculpt using the female form as opposed to alabaster.

Exsoteric: What are your top three tips for a woman getting ready to go out?

Ben: Never over accessorise, don't buy anything with mediocre detail - instead buy something that has one focal, flawless piece of detail and don't underestimate the power of looking simple and effortless

Exsoteric: Which highstreet brands do you hold in high esteem and which are translating key trends most successfully?

Ben: Principles by Ben de Lisi of course as the range is elegant and classic whilst being designed for the modern woman. I think highstreet brands should focus on key pieces with a twist as opposed to following trends. Cos and Banana Republic do this so well and I don't even consider them as highstreet brands as such.

Exsoteric: Are there any celebrities you have yet to work with and who you would love to dress?

Ben: Absolutely - Julianne Moore, Kristen Scott Thomas and Sandra Bullock

Exsoteric: You've just listed three very timeless beauties. Does that encapsulate your whole design ethos?

Ben: Exactly

Exsoteric: And finally - if you were (or indeed are) to design a dress for Kate Middleton, what would it look like and why?

Ben: I did actually sketch for Kate but the designs weren't published. The dress was modern but also celebrated the pageantry of the day. A fitted bodice to accentuate her long figure. The bodice was covered in French ribbon which was frayed and knotted to give it a really modern but classic twist

My Evening with Karl Lagerfeld

So...possibly the most glamorous event of 2011 (apart from my wedding that's coming up in August of course!) I had the pleasure of going to Paris yesterday as creative genius, Karl Lagerfeld unveiled his hottest collection yet for Diet Coke. Celebrities from Lily Cole to Lou Douillon attended the glam event at Le Georges at the Pompidou Centre in Paris.

But it was seriously a stylish trip from start to finish, from our plush carriage on the Eurostar, settling in to our rooms of the boutique L'Empire hotel to kicking off the night with a scrumptious dinner at Kong (as in THE Kong restaurant featured in the Paris episodes of Sex and the City!)

I've had 3 hours sleep, have the most horrendous bags under my eyes but it was SO worth it!

A Stylish Weekend in Florence

So one lucky lady (that'd be me!) was whisked off to Florence for a long weekend! I LOVE the city - apart from the naturally stylish Italians, the art and architecture makes me feel like I've been transported to a totally different era.

Apart from visiting the Duomo, browsing Via Turnabuoni and Ponte Vecchio, we feasted on truffles all weekend. Truffles on pasta, truffles on Florentine steak - washed down with some local Italian red wine - perfect!

We also stayed in possibly one of the most romantic hotels I've ever visited. Il Salvatino had the most fantastic views of the city, beautiful food and exquisite service.

I'll be posting pictures of some people that caught my eye over the weekend - Italian style of course!

I have, since I was a little girl always been fascinated by accessories...how a simple necklace or statement bangle could really make an outfit. I think this obsession may have been born from childhood - my mother had a huge ornate jewellery box crammed full of eye-catching costume jewellery and antique pieces given to her by my father.

So back to the point in question...what I love more than finding a little treasure at my favourite flea market in New York (or my mum's jewellery box!) is discovering a new jewellery designer.

So I'd like to introduce you all to Cecilia Ostman. I had the pleasure of meeting her at the Pavilion of Art & Design when I asked to take her picture. I was instantly drawn to her necklace, which was of course one of her own designs.

Check out her whole collection and you soon realise that her necklaces are what you've probably always been looking for but could never seem to find in the shops. Jade and turquoise beads are used to create little clusters of flowers hung from delicate chains, or large polished black pebble beads juxtaposed on plaited cream fabric...simply stunning.

I wanted to get to know Cecilia a bit better and to find out what her sources of inspiration are...

E: Describe your style in three words
CO: Cute, sexy, feminine

E: Where do you get inspiration for your jewellery designs?

CO: My favorite source of inspiration is traditional costume. There is so much inspiration to be taken from the pioneers; the ones who started it; before imitations. Ancient Greece, Rome and Egypt all have amazing examples of jewellery that is so timeless in its beauty. My latest inspiration was ancient Arabian jewellery and costume.

E:What is your most prized piece of jewellery / fashion item?

CO: My huge white fox fur ear muffs. My ears are very sensitive to wind and cold that the minute it gets just a bit cold out there i long for these earmuffs. They are huge on me, children point at me and men holler from across the street, but to me they are so cozy; I wouldn't survive a winter without them!

E: Your best kept fashion secret?

CO: My friends hate me for this, but I tailor my own clothes. If you know how to sew (even a little), you can transform an ill fitted sale item to look stunning. With some good pressing and a few tucks here and there I make H&M look like couture.

E: Which celebrity would you most like to see wear your jewellery?

CO: Rachel Bilson. She has a great sense of style, she always looks cute and she's always smiling!

E: What is your fashion forecast for accessories for 2011?

CO: I think statement pieces still have a long shelf live. I'm going for some big necklaces, cute head bands, bows, colors, and really feminine stuff.

E: What does style mean to you?

CO: For me style is what you accomplish when at any given day you are dressed for the occasion, the weather and you are true to yourself.

E: Finally, whose style do you admire?

CO: Audrey Hepburn. I know it's a cliche, but she really was always elegant, feminine and full of style!

Coco Chanel, she practically invented the modern woman, we all owe her a lot!

This week I was invited by Ruinart to attend the opening of Pavilion of Art & Design London. It is organised by the Société d’Organisation Culturelle (SOC) which was founded in 1996 by Patrick Perrin and Stéphane Custot and brings together international gallery owners as well as young promising dealers whose area of expertise covers the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries.

As well as the beautiful Warhol's and Basquiat's on display you couldn't help but notice the sheer style of the male and female guests in the room. From Monique Rosenthal's timeless elegance to Annie McFadyen's quirky cool, each work of art acted as a perfect backdrop for all the opulent styles I had the pleasure of photographing.

Mulberry is in bloom for Spring Summer 2011 at London Fashion Week. The show was filled with unexpected contrasts of maxi and mini proportions and oversized details.

There were two stand-out prints: Trippy Tiger and Neon Woodland which underpinned the collection. The range was both soft and romantic as well as bold, dramatic and sharp. High waisted skirts were accentuated with deep folds ensuring a post-modern ladylike sensibility.

Mulberry's animal instinct went beyond the prints that adorned the chiffon shirts and flowing dresses. It was handbags and pooches all the way with several guests packing their glamorous pets into their designer handbags.

Afternoon tea with Justine Picardie for Coco Chanel book launch

What a fab afternoon I must tell you all about - I was invited to afternoon tea at Claridges with the fabulous Justine Picardie who launches her new book Coco Chanel: The Legend and the Life. I'd preempted a traditional book launch with a packed room, name badges and lectern. But we're talking about Justine Picardie and Coco Chanel here - the afternoon was in fact a really intimate chat with the author herself, filled with some great stories that made me laugh and more importantly which made me question everything I thought I knew about Coco Chanel herself.

Justine's research has evidently gone beyond pure diligence to archived information. Granted she has unearthed some absolutely fascinating facts and unseen images; Coco Chanel's close relationship with Winston Churchill or the nervous anxiety she suffered despite our preconceived notions of Wintour-esque stature and ultimate confidence. Justine has gone beyond straightforward research by literally stepping into Coco's shoes...and couture!

Justine recounts staying at Gabrielle's (Coco's great niece's) apartment where she was permitted to try the fashion icon's personal couture (which, she recalls still smelt like No. 5) to living in the convent where Coco was brought up by nuns. Justine draws some amazing parallels that go a long way in unearthing the real life and inspirations of the legend that was Coco Chanel. Never before seen pictures highlight the convent's impact on Coco's design inspirations: from the double 'c' logo clearly evident in the convent's stained glass window, or the star designed mosaic floor that became so integral to Coco's designs.

The book is as compelling as the smell of No. 5 as I'm already on my fourth chapter and can't seem to put it down. I'd urge anyone who has an interest in Chanel to pick up a copy pronto as this book will challenge what you thought you already knew in a big way.

As interesting as the book itself are Justine's fantastic experiences and stories from when she was researching...I'm going to leave you with one.
Having stayed in the very room where Coco passed at the Ritz Hotel, Justine experienced flashing lights and an exploding lightbulb on her first night. The hotel's electricians checked the room the next day and everything appeared normal with the wiring. When the maid came to tidy her room Justine mentioned she'd had the strangest night but didn't explain what had happened. The maid turned to her and nonchalantly asked: "Has Mademoiselle been to visit?"... needless to say, everyone in the room felt a shiver run down their spine so heaven knows how Justine must have felt at the time.

As well as drawing upon her unprecedented access to the Chanel archive, Justine has gone beyond just that to unpick the seams between the truth and myth. The result is a book full of interesting facts about Le Grande Mademoiselle that have never been unearthed before to create what can only be described as the definitive biography of one of fashion's most revered icons.

Buttery soft handbags to make you swoon

Every now and again a new handbag designer comes along that really makes me sit up and notice. I've been a fan of Tabitha's for some years now. Hardly new on the scene, she has been designing beautiful bags since 2003. What I love about them is that they're the antithesis of what is deemed an IT bag. They are wonderfully crafted, exceptional in their practicality and timeless. Add to that, the softest butteriest leather you can muster...and there you have it. I'll be donning my Stardust bag at London Fashion Week this year...if I can just get to the front of that waiting list that is!!
